Five Years of NECTAR:
A Letter from Jess

I've been trying to write this for weeks.

Every time I sit down to reflect on five years of NECTAR, I don't know where to start. So much of it still surprises me. The awards, the team, the guests who keep coming back and bringing the people they love so dearly. None of it was in the original plan, and all of it means more to me than I know how to put into words.

But I'll try.

It Started With One Chair

What I Didn't Plan For

When I opened NECTAR, I didn't plan on having a team.

I pictured something smaller and intimate. Just me, creating a quiet sanctuary where guests could feel genuinely cared for. But the demand grew, and so did my vision for what NECTAR could be. Every person on our team today was intentionally recruited. Not solely for skill, but for character, for warmth, for the kind of presence our guests deserve to feel from the moment they arrive.

What has surprised me most is how much having a team means to me, and how much is required if I want to lead greatly. Leading people well is one of the hardest and most rewarding things I've ever done. It pushes me to show up as my absolute best, every single day. It makes me want to learn how to be better — it makes me grow into my best version, and I wouldn't trade it.

The Community We Didn't Expect

I also didn't expect the community we would build.

Every guest who walks through our doors is remarkable. Genuinely wonderful people — the kind of individuals I'd happily sit across from over coffee and have good conversation. I still don't know how we got so lucky, but I'm grateful for it every day. Our guest community has more than tripled in just the last two years, and it has happened the way the best things do: organically, through trust, through word of mouth, through the best influencers (our guests), and through results that speak for themselves.

And then there are the awards. When I opened NECTAR, recognition wasn't something I thought about — it wasn't even on my radar. I was focused on the guest in my chair and nothing else. But our community has consistently voted us the top med spa in the region, and being named one of Michigan's 50 Companies to Watch was something I still can barely believe. Those honors belong to every guest who trusted us and every team member who shows up with care, intention, and trust in my leadership. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart.

What Comes Next

We are still growing. Still learning. Still guided by the same belief that brought me to this work in the first place: that every person deserves to feel confident, cared for, and beautifully themselves. That is the NECTAR promise, and it has not changed.

To every guest who has been with us since the beginning, thank you. To everyone who found us along the way, thank you. And to those who haven't visited yet — we would love to meet you. There has never been a better time.
